The Best Link In Bio Tools For Your Instagram Profile
Social media is a powerful tool for directing traffic directly to your website, offers, and shop. Your Instagram bio is the most important part of your profile and the first impression you make on your followers. Not only does is convince people to press that follow button, but it also is the vessel for achieving what should be your main goal with Instagram – to get people off the 'Gram and on to a place where you can better control their experience.
With only one clickable link in your bio to choose from, the link in bio tool you choose to better share links with your followers can make a significant impact in your Instagram marketing strategy. As an Instagram content manager, I’ve tested every tool on the market to dial it down to five of my favorites. Link.tree? Linkin.bio? DIY? Let’s dive into the pros and cons of each tool.
Linkin.Bio
Linkinbio is the tool best known for creating a clickable Instagram grid through one link. Through a personalized URL, followers can follow a link to a product, blog posts, services page, or website. When viewing this personalized link, a follower can quite literally ‘shop’ your feed based on the post they’re searching for. There are a few similar tools on the market, but Linkinbio is my choice since it syncs with your Later account which is my personal preference for scheduling content and an Instagram certified partner.
Linkin.bio is perfect for:
Blogs, Online publications, and bloggers
Brands with shoppable products
Businesses sharing fresh content often
Linkinbio is now available on all free Later plans with a small banner at the bottom. The pro plans offer the option to add for one post and sync your Shopify store to tag products in your linkin.bio. With Linkin.bio, you can track advanced analytics to how much traffic your posts generate.
When it comes to setting up Linkin.bio with your Later account, it’s incredibly simple. First, you’ll create your custom URL and start adding posts. You can choose from already published posts and posts you’re scheduling for a future date.
Link.tree
Linktree is an online platform that allows you to link to various links through one generated link connected to your Instagram account. Creating a Linktree account is free and allows for minimal customization. One of my favorite parts about Linktree it's easy to manage by allowing you to quickly reorder, add, edit, and remove URLs. You can easily track the number of clicks each link gets which allows you to gauge how well content is performing. I typically recommend this to service-based business owners or my clients that aren’t tech-savvy due to how easy it is to use and maintain.
If you fall in love with Linktree, the paid version offers advanced analytics, customization, and the ability to schedule links. I know I would greatly benefit from the ability to schedule your links for when they go live for a new blog or timely launch instead of needing to monitor it the day of. Lnk.Bio is an identical alternative to Linktree with a free version and comparable pricing.
Campsite
Campsite is one of the newer options I’ve discovered on the link in bio options. Similar to Linktree, a unique link will offer multiple URL’s to choose from in your Instagram bio. When it comes to comparing the two tools, I prefer Campsite’s customization options with their free plan. Campsite allows you to add a mini-bio to your page, change your photo, add photos with your links, and icons to your other sites. Overall, I prefer Campsite if I’m choosing a linktree option for my bio. Both options are great if you plan on sharing more than five links in your tree.
Milkshake
Milkshake is the mini-website builder for mobile-optimized Insta websites. With Milkshake, you can create a free landing page where followers can get to know you and your brand through the link in your bio. This tool is tailored for influencers, bloggers, or new Instagrammers that don’t have their own website to showcase.
Their minimalist designs and cards make it perfect for any branding, even if you don’t have branding assets of your own. If you have more than a few links you’re be sharing at one time, this may not be the option for your personal brand. Milkshake offers limited link options which were designed for creators wanting to link to a YouTube channel, blog post, email, or affiliate page directly from their Instagram profile. The can edit your Milkshake page on iOS and Android mobile devices
DIY LinkTree On Your Website
If these options don't suit your fancy, you can always create your own mobile-friendly URL linking to a landing page with buttons to choose from, similar to a Linktree. This option is free and easy to brand according to your website design features. Also, if you’re linking within your site you can track your clicks and easily link within your site. By DIYing an Instagram link on your site, you also own the tool you’re using in case anything ever happens with the link in bio tools mentioned above.
The only downside to this option? It doesn’t offer the unique options created with Instagram users in mind like the ability to easily rearrange your link tree by turning off live buttons or shop your feed based on your grid posts.
Whichever option suits your fancy, I recommend adding a personized URL to your bio in order to share more valuable content on Instagram. Sharing multiple links withinInstagram is vital for driving traffic to your blog, shop, newsletter opt-in, or services page.
